Chris has helped me drastically for my competition in Muay Thai. I’ve been competing since the age of five in martial arts. I’ve cut weight since high school for wrestling but that wasn’t as severe as it is now. Before I met Chris I used to cut no more than 7-8 lbs, and cutting that much of weight before my fight felt impossible to do. My past fight event in the WKA Tournament on 2/19/2011, I fought in the 140.8 lbs weight division. I normally walk around 160 lbs on a regular, so I had to cut around 20lbs for this event. I was unsure and hesitant about the weight cut because I’ve never done more than 9 lbs. With Chris as my guide to my weight cut, it was a walk in the park. Chris had my diet plan and gave me great information to follow. I didn’t believe it, but once I started my weight cut, everything was on point with his direction. The day of the weigh-in I felt strong and confident about myself. I ended up winning the WKA Tournament undefeated in the Muay Thai division. Thank you so much Chris for your help. As a professional mixed martial artist since October of 2008, I have been on a constant search for the best training. I have been across the United States to highly recognized schools, such as Ken Shamrock’s Lion’s Den, Wild Card boxing gym, and even the famous Greg Jacksons gym in New Mexico, but have yet to experience the high level of strength and conditioning that Chris Merritt offers. Since I have been with Chris, I, as well as many others, have seen and felt a tremendous increase in my strength and cardio levels. I am currently on a 4 fight win streak (5 as of Feb ’11!!) in two different weight classes, which could not have been possible without the help of Chris. God has truly blessed him with the knowledge and passion to be the best trainer in the world, and I look forward to continuing to work with him! Thank you so much for all your help Chris.  I have been a client of Chris Merritt’s since I was about 12 weeks pregnant.  Chris was an excellent trainer when it came to my health, as well as my unborn child for the remainder of my pregnancy.  When one of my activities would start to bother me he would switch it up right away, never pushing me to overdo it.  With everything we did, he continuously monitored my heart rate to make sure it never exceeded 140bpm, which is what my doctors recommended…  Chris would rotate my exercises so that I would not get bored of the same things day after day.  You are very lucky to be getting such a great person like this as your trainer.  I thank him every day for putting up with a hormonal pregnant lady for so long, but I know without Chris I would not have had such a wonderful labor and delivery-  I know I have him to thank for that.  Also, because Chris kept me in such good shape those months, I am glad to say getting the baby weight off afterwards was no problem at all.  My son is two months old and I am only five pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight.  Any pregnant lady who would work with Chris from here on out would be very lucky and I can’t say that enough.  Thank you, Chris!!!!

I highly recommend working with Chris as a personal trainer.  I’ve been working out at gyms on and off for several years and had a few trainers here and there,  Chris is by far the best one I’ve had.  He’s very good at explaining why we do certain exercises in certain ways.  I feel like I’ve learnded a lot from working out with Chris, which is very important to me.  He is very good at staying focused on what we’re doing and paying attention to the reps and weight of each exercise.   

Something else I really appreciated about Chris was his demeanor as we were training.  He’s not a loud or aggressive trainer that yells a lot, but he definitely knows when to push a little harder to get those extra reps in.  He was always very understanding if I ever had to reschedule or move appointments around.  If he ever had to miss an appointment, or if I couldn’t see him during the week, he would give me written “homework” to get done before I saw him again, always explaining in detail what I needed to do and why.   

Chris really did a great job for me and I would 100% recommend him for anyone considering a personal trainer.

Chris Merritt has done the impossible; he has made me feel comfortable and confident in my own skin.  In just a few short weeks I saw a difference in myself, and now, a month and a half later, it’s almost as if I’m a different person.  I have a few more weeks before my wedding and I’m confident I will look beautiful in my dress this coming July (2009).  I’m so thankful I was paired with a trainer who helped me to laugh and enjoy working out!

When I first met Todd, I was a 48 year old woman who was 80lbs. overweight with life threatening diseases of high blood pressure and diabetes.  Even though I had worked with other personal trainers for more than a year, I never saw the kind of results that I did when I trained with Todd.  I only worked with Todd for a short time, but I saw my body transform quickly.  After a few sessions, my strength and stamina had increased and my muscles started to become defined.  I would recommend Todd to absolutely anyone.  He is a compassionate trainer who cares about his clients.  He truly tailors the exercise sessions to each individual and their needs.  

 When Todd first taught me power lifting exercises, I was a bit intimidated and not so sure if I could do them.  However with Todd’s knowledge and encouragement I learned to love lifting and the empowerment it gave me.  With Todd’s help, I was able to lose almost 30lbs. in less than a month and I no longer have high blood pressure!  

Todd has great knowledge of body mechanics and muscle function, and is capable of training the most accomplished  athletes like NFL players to the average person who may have very little skills.  I can’t thank Todd enough for what he has done for me.  I credit him for helping me increase my strength, endurance, muscle tone, as well as my positive outlook on life in general.
